a song they all sung silently
i've been aware for some time now that eisley has a song entitled "golly sandra" which i've always found intriguing since sandra is the name of my frightened mother. well, i decided to listen to some eisley this afternoon, as i do enjoy their melodic and soothing tunes, but during all of this, i was interested to look a the exact lyrics of the song. not only does it include my mother's given name, but almost has an element of her destructive love. so, i call it the song they all sung silently - all being the ones whom she let get away, the husbands that could never make her satisfied but loved her only to receive a painful realization of their shortcomings in return. this song's for her, the woman with the heart of stone, aching with all that she hides to be alive.
G-g-g-golly Sandra!
you’ve grown up really crazy...
have I been too denying of you?
G-golly Sandra!
you’ve grown up so crazy....
have I been too untrusting?
To take me down to the bridge
where you know that I've always loved you
and i’ll go without stopping
Oh you are my scar
and that’s not really far
Hey, hey
Golly Sandra!
you’ve grown up really crazy....
have I been too denying of you,
Take me down to the bridge
where you know that I've always loved you
and I’ll go there without stopping
oh you are my scar
that’s not really far
Hey, hey
well I guess I have should have been around to sing you to sleep
you look so beautiful...it hurts me slightly
ooh, ooh
oh you are my scar
and that’s not really far
Hey,hey
oh you know I've tried so hard for you, for you
